Terms of use

Agreement

By downloading, installing, or using Stoja ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

License

Subject to these terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for your personal or internal business purposes on devices you own or control, in accordance with the license terms presented at install or purchase (for example, Apple's Standard EULA where the App is obtained via the Mac App Store).

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the App. For example, you must not:

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code except where prohibited law allows.
  • Circumvent technical limitations or security features.
  • Use the App in violation of applicable law.

Disclaimer

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation. Stoja is a productivity aid; it is not medical, therapeutic, or professional advice.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the App in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) twenty-five US dollars (US$25), if you did not pay for the App.

Changes

We may update the App and these terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page (and, if the App collects account data or uses online services, we may notify you in the App or by email). Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, excluding conflict-of-law rules. State and federal courts located in New York County, New York have exclusive jurisdiction.

Privacy policy

This policy describes how we handle information in connection with Stoja. Our goal is to keep the experience local-first: your focus sessions and tasks should stay on your Mac unless you explicitly use a feature that sends data elsewhere.

What we collect

Information on your device. Stoja stores session and task data locally so the App can function (for example, timer state and your task list). That data remains on your device unless you export it or enable a sync or backup feature we describe separately.

We do not use third-party analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs in the App.

How we use information

We use information solely to operate, secure, and improve the App — for example:

  • Providing core timer and task features.
  • Diagnosing crashes or severe bugs when you opt in to sharing reports.
  • Complying with law or protecting rights and safety when required.

Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run the App (none at this time), or when required by law.

Retention

Data stored locally stays until you delete it or remove the App. Stoja does not currently process server-side user data.

Your choices

You can delete task and session data from within the App where supported, or by uninstalling the App (which removes local application data subject to macOS behavior). Regional rights (access, deletion, portability) may apply; to exercise rights requests, contact us at hello@stoja.app.

Children

Stoja is not directed at children under 13 (or the age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

International users

If you access the App from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States.

Changes to this policy

We will post updates on this page and update the effective date above. For material changes, we will provide additional notice if appropriate (for example, in-app or by email).
